Here are post-game notes after the Tigers' loss to Delaware: 

HONORARY CAPTAIN: Former Tiger football standout Terry O'Brien served as the Tigers' honorary captain for the game against Delaware ... A member of the Tigers in 1973 and 1974, he was an assistant coach at Towson for three years ... He was the Head Athletics Trainer at Towson from 1980 to 2010 and retired last year ... He was also presented with a commemorative jersey in a halftime ceremony.

DEFENSIVE REINFORCEMENTS: The Tiger defense received a boost with the return of three starters for the Delaware game ... Junior linebacker Danzel White and junior safety Jordan Dangerfield, who missed the last two games with knee injuries ... Senior Nick Oates also returned to the starting lineup after missing last week's game due to a suspension ... White led the Tigers with 11 tackles, including one for two yards ... Dangerfield had seven tackles while Oates had a blocked field goal in the final minutes of the game.

GO WEST: For the fourth week in a row, freshman Terrance West rushed for more than 100 yards ... He ran for a career high 155 yards on 27 carries and scored four touchdowns ... West, who has rushed for 746 yards on 120 carries, has now scored 18 touchdowns, the top mark in NCAA FCS ... In the last four games, he has rushed for 572 yards on 87 carries and 13 touchdowns ... He has been honored as the CAA Rookie of the Week four times.

3rd DOWN SUCCESS: Against Delaware, the Tigers were 6-for-14 on third down and one-for-three on fourth down ... The Tigers entered the game as the NCAA FCS leader in third down conversions ... They are now 56-for-108 on third down (52 per cent) ... On fourth down, they are now 11-for-19.

KICKOFF RETURNS FOR TDs: When Travis Hawkins returned a kickoff for an 86-yard touchdown in the second quarter, it marked the third time in the last four years that the Blue Hens returned a kickoff for a touchdown against Towson ... In 2008 and 2009, Jerry Butler had kickoff returns for touchdowns against the Tigers ... In 2008, Butler had a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown ... In 2009, he had an 89-yard kickoff return for a TD.

COIN TOSS SUCCESS: For the seventh time in eight games, the Tigers won the opening coin toss ... They deferred for the seventh time.

QUICK STRIKE: When freshman Terrance West scored on a 46-yard run on the Tigers' fourth offensive play of the game, it was Towson's earliest touchdown of the season ... The Tigers took a 7-0 lead with 12:10 remaining in the first half ... It was West's 15th touchdown of the season.

FIRST QUARTER TURNOVERS: A pair of turnovers in the first quarter helped the Tigers take a 10-0 lead ... A fumble recovery by Romale Tucker led to the Tigers' first touchdown of the game ... An interception by Kenton Powell enabled the Tigers to take a 10-0 lead when D.J. Soven kicked a field goal.

ATTENDANCE RECORD: Despite the nasty weather, a crowd of 8,122 attended the game between the Tigers and the Blue Hens ... That crowd enabled Towson to break the single season attendance record ... In five home games, the Tigers have drawn 43,083, an average of 8,617.

STRANGE WEATHER: An unusual October weather system created a very different environment for the Tigers and the Blue Hens on Saturday night ... There was a light snow falling for most of the day ... Two hours before game time, there was a light coating of snow on the Tigers' artificial surface field ... However, most of the snow had melted by kickoff ... The teams did play a game in 39-degree weather with a gusty wind that reached close to 20 miles per hour.
