In the regular season finale, the Tigers ran for a seasonal low 154 yards … The
Tigers came into the game averaging a Colonial Athletic Association-leading

MAKING
HISTORY: By winning
the Colonial Athletic Association championship, the Tigers earned the CAA's
automatic qualifier to the NCAA FCS Playoffs … Towson becomes the first team in
NCAA history to qualify for the NCAA playoffs at three different levels … In
1976, the Tigers went to the NCAA Division III playoffs … In 1983, 1984 and
1986, the Tigers competed in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

TEAMS ADVANCE: When
the Tigers earn a berth in the NCAA FCS playoffs, they are expected to be one
of several teams from the Colonial Athletic Association to advance to the
playoffs … Towson, Maine, New Hampshire and Old Dominion are considered to be
locks to make the NCAA playoffs … James Madison and Delaware are on the bubble.

POST BEST RECORD AS FCS PROGRAM: When
the Tigers beat Rhode Island, it was their ninth win of the season … This is
the Tigers' first nine-win season since 1984 when they had a 9-4 mark … This is
the first time that the Tigers have won nine games as an NCAA FCS program.

WEST: Although the
Tigers' freshman tailback Terrance West was
held to 52 rushing yards on Saturday, he did score two more touchdowns to
finish the regular season with 27 touchdowns, a mark that leads NCAA FCS … It
was his seventh straight multi-touchdown game of the season … He finished the
regular season with 1,242 yards, second in the CAA.
BIG PLAY: One of the
biggest plays of the Tigers' win over Rhode Island came in the second quarter …
While leading by 10-7, the Rams faced fourth down-and-nine at the Tigers' 37-yard line … Punter Louie Feinstein came
into the game for an apparent punt … Feinstein took the snap and passed to Matt
Rae … But defensive end Romale Tucker read the play and tackled him for a
two-yard loss.
COMING FROM
BEHIND:
For the first time this season, the Tigers found themselves trailing by 10
points in the first quarter … The Tigers bounced back from their 10-0 deficit
and took a 14-10 lead by halftime … The Tigers are now 8-0 when leading at
halftime … The only time that the Tigers trailed at halftime and won was the
Old Dominion victory.
INTERCEPTIONS: When Nick Oates intercepted a pass in the
fourth quarter, it was the Tigers' 12th interception of the season …
Linebackers Kenton Powell and Alexander DiSanzo are tied for the team
lead with three interceptions … Jordan Dangerfield, Tye Smith and Oates have two interceptions each.
ROAD
WARRIORS:
With their 28-17 win over Rhode Island, the Tigers won their fourth straight
road game … The Tigers went 4-0 on the road against CAA teams this season,
beating Old Dominion, William and Mary, Maine and Rhode Island on the road.
