| @Towson_FB Season Tickets Selling At Record Pace

TOWSON, Md. - With 172 days remaining before Towson University's football home opener on Sept. 15, season ticket sales for the Tigers' 2012 football campaign have reached an all-time high, already surpassing last year's school-record total.

The most improved team in NCAA FCS last year, the Tigers set numerous attendance records en route to their Colonial Athletic Association championship. Last season, the Tigers attracted a record total of 62,645 fans to Johnny Unitas® Stadium.

Averaging a record 8,949 fans per game, Unitas Stadium saw plenty of excitement as the Tigers posted a 9-2 record and won their first CAA championship with a 7-1 record. When the No. 9 Tigers hosted an NCAA FCS second round playoff game, the first sell-out crowd (11,196) in Unitas Stadium history watched the Tigers face Lehigh.

With nine starters returning on offense and nine returning starters on defense, Coach Rob Ambrose and the Tigers are primed for another memorable season. Quarterback Grant Enders and wide receiver Tom Ryan lead the passing game while All-American back Terrance West also returns. Last season, the Tigers averaged 34.8 points per game to rank among the national leaders.

A pair of All-Americans, senior defensive end Frank Beltre and senior safety Jordan Dangerfield, will pace the Tigers' defense.

Tiger football fans are encouraged to act quickly to secure tickets for the 2012 season. The 50-yard line seating location, known as the Gold Chair Backs, is nearly sold-out. Once the season ticket renewal deadline passes on Saturday, April 21, deposits will begin to be seated. During this timeframe it is expected that all Gold Chair Backs will be sold-out.

Once again, the Tigers will play an attractive home schedule, hosting William & Mary on Sept. 15, St. Francis on Sept. 22, Maine on Oct. 13, Old Dominion on Oct. 20 and Rhode Island on Nov. 10.
