BALTIMORE, Md. - For the sixth consecutive year, the Colonial Athletic Association will conduct its annual CAA Football Media Day when representatives from all 11 CAA football programs gather at M&T Bank Stadium on Wednesday, July 25.
Commissioner Tom Yeager will also be on hand as coaches and players from the CAA teams meet with the media.
Highlighting the event will be the announcement of the CAA's pre-season poll, which will establish the CAA's pre-season order of finish. In addition, the pre-season All-CAA team will be announced, along with the pre-season Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year.
Although it is unclear where the Tigers will be picked, it is a certainty that Towson will not be picked to finish last. Last year, Towson was selected to finish 11th in the CAA. However, the Tigers surprised the experts by posting a 7-1 CAA record to win their first conference championship outright.
Towson, James Madison, Maine, New Hampshire, Old Dominion and Delaware figure to be ranked among the top teams in the CAA in the pre-season poll. Last season, Towson was one of five CAA teams to earn an NCAA FCS playoff berth. James Madison, New Hampshire, Maine and ODU also advanced to the post-season.
Coach Rob Ambrose, the 2011 CAA Coach of the Year, will be attending Media Day, along with seniors Frank Beltre and Jordan Dangerfield, both members of the All-CAA first team last year.
