FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Playing its second match during the spring break, the Towson women's tennis team lost its for the second time in two days, falling 5-4 to Nova Southeastern on Thursday.
A day after winning the doubles point against Florida Atlantic, the Tigers (7-5, 0-1 CAA) lost all three doubles matches against the Sharks and found themselves down by a 3-0 margin heading into singles play.
"We were flat and over-confident heading into the doubles matches because we played well there in the previous two matches," Towson head coach Doug Neagle said. "The hole we were in was too deep to dig out of, but we fought back hard in singles."
Towson won all four of its points in the singles matches as Nisha Shah, Lorena Ferrer, Andrea Samlin and Ariel Burke all took home victories.
Samlin won her ninth straight match, defeating Charlotte Cote 7-5 and 6-2. Samlin has a team-best 12-5 record this season.
The Tigers' next match will be Sunday at Howard.
