TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers will return to the tennis courts Saturday, as they travel to New York to face the Hofstra Pride for a match at 11 a.m.
Towson (7-5, 0-1 CAA) has had each of its last three matches postponed due to weather and has not competed since a 5-4 setback at Nova Southeastern on March 21.
Towson has seen a number of valuable contributors develop this season, led by seniors Andrea Samlin, Moriah Burke and freshman Lorena Ferrer.
Samlin has enjoyed a fine senior season, leading the team with a 12-5 singles record. She has won each of her last nine singles matches and has done her most impressive work at No. 5 singles, where she is 4-1 this season. She is also 6-6 in doubles play.
Burke, in her first full season with the team, has added a needed boost to the team in doubles action. This season, she is 6-2 overall in doubles play and has done her best work with Ferrer as a partner. The duo is 4-0 as a doubles team.
Ferrer has made an immediate impact in both singles and doubles and has not been rattled by the collegiate game. Ferrer joins Samlin as the only Tigers with more than 10 singles victory (10-7 record) and has also thrived in doubles play. She has a team-best 9-3 record in doubles action.
