NORFOLK, Va. - After suffering a tough loss at Old Dominion on Saturday, the Tigers rebounded nicely in a 4-0 win over Norfolk State on Sunday, the team's tenth win of the season. It marks the third consecutive season in which the Tigers have had at least 10 victories for head coach Doug Neagle.
"It was really nice to get right back at it today," Neagle said. "Norfolk State is much improved, and I'm proud of our girls."
The team stopped the match after the Tigers earned the decisive fourth point.
Towson had outstanding matches from Lorena Ferrer, Nisha Shah and Andrea Samlin en route to Sunday's victory. All three Tigers won in straight sets, including an impressive performance from Ferrer at No. 2 singles. Moved up in the lineup, Ferrer defeated Laura Gutierrez 6-2 and 6-1 to earn her 14th win of the season. The freshman is second on the team in wins behind Samlin's 15 this season.
