TOWSON, Md. - Playing its fourth match in six days, the Tigers will host the Unifversity of Maryland- Eastern Shore on Friday for a match beginning at 3 p.m. at the Towson Center Tennis Courts. Towson has won two of its last three matches, including a pair of 4-0 victories over Norfolk State on Sunday and George Mason on Tuesday.

Most recently, the Tigers are coming off of a 6-1 setback to Navy on Wednesday in a road match for Towson.

The Tigers earned their lone point of the match thanks to Andrea Samlin, as the senior defeated Logan Antill 6-1, 1-6 and 10-6 in the tiebreaker at No. 4 singles.

Samlin has been excellent throughout the season and leads the team with a 16-6 record in singles play.

She has also showed off her versatility in doubles play, teaming up with Lorena Ferrer against Navy to earn a doubles victory. Samlin is one of four Tigers with at least nine doubles wins.

Ferrer, a freshman, has proved valuable for the Tigers and has instantly stepped in and become a force on the courts. She is 15-8 in singles play, second behind only Samlin in wins, and has taken a move up in the lineup for head coach Doug Neagle in stride. She has played two matches at No. 2 singles over the past two weeks and has won both.

Junior Nisha Shah has been heating up, and has won each of her last three singles matches. Shah now has 12 singles wins after leading the team in wins in each of the past two seasons.
