TOWSON, Md. - In Towson's final home match of the season, the Tigers were upended by James Madison on Saturday at the Towson Center Tennis Courts by a score of 7-0.
It was the final home match in the careers of Tigers Moriah Burke and Andrea Samlin, who were honored in a pre-match ceremony for the contributions to the Towson program and head coach Doug Neagle.
"Today really showed how much passion and love these girls have for each other," Neagle commented. "It was awesome. Moriah has only been here one full year, but you'd think she's been here for four years. She's so close to the girls and she really battles. Samlin has always done whatever it takes to pick up a win. Both of them have provided so much leadership."
Burke teamed with sophomore Cailey Easdale and was defeated by a Dukes duo 8-1 at No. 3 doubles, while Samlin won the second set of singles play over Cara Wirth at No. 5 singles before falling 10-7 in the tiebreaker.
The Tigers (11-9, 2-4 CAA) conclude the regular season on Tuesday at Loyola for a match beginning at 3:15 p.m.
