TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers will finish up the regular season on Tuesday as it takes on cross-town rival Loyola in Baltimore on Tuesday, beginning at 3:15 p.m. The Tigers (11-9, 2-4 CAA) will look to snap a two-match losing streak against the Greyhounds after falling most recently to James Madison on Sunday.
Towson is led by senior standout Andrea Samlin, who has a team-high 16 singles victories, including nine consective wins from Feb. 16 to March 21. The senior has won at least 14 singles matches in each of her four seasons.
A number of other Tigers have performed well this season, including freshman Lorena Ferrer and juniors Ariel Burke and Nisha Shah.
Ferrer has made an instant impact with 15 singles wins and has been versatile, moving throughout the lineup as the season has progressed.
Burke has a 10-10 record in singles play, but has also been steady and productive in doubles action. She has a team-high 13 doubles wins, including a 7-3 record as a pairing with teammate Nani Lizana.
Shah has won 20 or more singles matches in each of the prior two seasons. Despite a 12-10 record this year, Shah has won five of her last seven matches.
Towson begins the Colonial Athletic Association Championship on April 19 at William & Mary.
