BALTIMORE, Md. - Towson's women's tennis team ended the regular season on Tuesday, recording a 6-1 victory at cross-town rival Loyola.
The Tigers (12-9, 2-4 CAA) won the doubles point after winning two of three doubles matches. The duos of Moriah Burke and Ayana Dow and Andrea Samlin and Lorena Ferrer defeated their Loyola counterparts to give the Tigers an early edge.
Towson then won five of six singles matches, all in straight sets. Dow, Ferrer, Samlin, Ariel Burke and Nisha Shah all earned victories.
With the win, four Tigers finished the regular season with at least 11 victories, a group that includes Ariel Burke, Shah, Ferrer and Samlin. Samlin and Ferrer combined for a 33-16 record in singles play this season.
Ariel Burke and Ferrer each had 13 doubles victories to lead the team.
Towson begins the CAA Championships against James Madison on Friday at 9 a.m.
