Assistant Director of Athletics

for Compliance Services

 

Towson University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance Services.  Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creation, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive NCAA rules compliance program; serve as the primary individual to secure CAA and NCAA compliance rules interpretations; and serve as the departmental liaison with Admissions, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, and Residence Life.

 

Duties include evaluation of student-athlete and prospective student-athlete records to determine eligibility status for practice and competition; monitoring of eligibility and financial aid of student-athletes; monitoring procedures for student-athlete recruiting; communication with coaches and academic support personnel regarding eligibility status of student-athletes; conducting compliance education meetings; generation of documents related to eligibility certification as well as other Conference and NCAA reports; and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Three years of relevant experience required.  Experience in compliance at an NCAA Division I institution, athletic conference office, or the NCAA.  Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to assume a wide variety of responsibilities.  Working knowledge of NCAA Rules; PeopleSoft and Compliance Assistant Software helpful. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
