Towson Athletics Public Address Announcers:

OVERVIEW:

Students applying for a PA job with Towson Athletics must be energetic, creative, self-motivated, organized and reliable. Previous experience is not required but is helpful. A try-out will take place either in the arena or the stadium. Knowledge of a variety of sports is also a plus.

Hours will vary from week to week, with some weeks having just one or two games and other weeks having three or four. While committing to work every game for one particular sport may not be possible, the expectation is that a majority of the games can be done and that missing games can result in your termination as PA announcer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Each student will be assigned a specific sport in which they are responsible for attending throughout the duration the season. Part of the job will include meeting frequently with the marketing staff to discuss timelines and in game announcements Working evening and weekends are not unusual so a flexible schedule is required.

Football, basketball and lacrosse already have PA announcers set for the 2007-08 season. That does not mean however that an opportunity to sub for a game or two is out of the question. Those that show a true talent for the position may get the opportunity to work a quarter or half of a game.

Volleyball, Field hockey, soccer, baseball, softball and swimming all have openings this year.
