TOWSON, Md. ?
The Tiger women's swimming and diving team has been recognized as an
Academic All-America team for the fall/winter semester, it has been
announced by the College Swim Coaches Association of America.
The
Tigers, who recorded a team grade point average of 3.242 during the
fall semester, were one of 97 Division I women's teams to be
recognized.
“It is a great accomplishment to have our women's team be recognized for all their success in the classroom,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said.
“This year's group of women was a very special group of
student-athletes. We expect to maintain this level of success for years
to come.”
To
be considered for Academic All-America status by the CSCAA, a team must
have a total grade point average at 2.80 or higher on a 4.00 scale for
the respective semester.
The Tigers finished the season in third place at the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships.
