Bolin Named CAA Diving Rookie of the Year; Tigers Earn All-CAA Honors

 

RICHMOND, Va. ? Freshman Bradley Bolin (Temple City H.S./Covina, Calif.) of the Towson University men's swimming and diving team has been named as the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Diving Rookie of the Year, it has been announced by CAA officials.

 

Bolin scored 27 points at the CAA Championship to lead all freshmen divers, helping the Tigers to a sixth place finish. He finished fifth in the one-meter event with a score of 246.25 points while earning sixth place in the three-meter event by scoring 236.85 points.

 

Bolin is the first Towson diver to reach the finals in either event since the Tigers joined the CAA during the 2001-2002 season. It is also the first time that a Towson diver has earned the CAA Rookie of the Year award.   

 

In addition, the CAA announced its All-Conference selections for the 2006-2007 season. Sophomore Eric Pinno (Leonardtown H.S./California, Md.) was named as an All-CAA selection in the 50-free, 100-free and 100-fly in addition to being a member of the Tigers' 200-free, 400-free and 800-free relays, which earned All-CAA status.

 

Senior Chris Will (Howard H.S./Elkridge, Md.) was named as an All-CAA selection in the 100-fly and 200-fly while helping the Tigers earn All-CAA status in the 200-free, 400-free and 800-free relays along with sophomore Connor Scanlon (Iona Prep/Larchmont, N.Y.). Sophomore Gordon Amato (Mount St. Joseph H.S./Hanover, Md.) earned All-CAA notice in the 400-individual medley while freshman Devin Kirby (Hammonton H.S./Atco, N.J.) was a member of the Tigers' 200-free and 400-free relay teams.

 

Sophomore Ryan Godfrey (Anderson H.S./Anderson, Ind.) earned All-CAA honors after helping the Tigers finish second in the 800-free relay.
