Basketball Teams Participate in Towson Community Weekend

TOWSON, Md. - The Towson Center will be busy this weekend as the Tiger basketball programs host Towson Community Weekend. In addition to two exciting games on Saturday and Sunday, the teams will host a clinic on Friday night.

The weekend kicks off with "Friday night with the Tigers" on January 22 at 7 p.m. Head men's coach Pat Kennedy and Head women's coach Joe Mathews along with their teams will be hosting a clinic for all the kids in attendance. Following the clinic, there will be a Meet N' Greet with the Tigers. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a free t-shirt and all attendees will receive a discounted ticket voucher for the weekend's games.

Saturday, January 23 at 4 p.m. the Tiger men's basketball team hosts Colonial Athletic Association rival George Mason. The game will be televised on MASN and will also be part of Mascot Madness. Halftime of the game will feature a basketball game involving Doc the Tiger, Poe from the Baltimore Ravens, Screech from the Washington Nationals and many more.

Sunday, January 24 at 2 p.m. the Tiger women's basketball team will battle Old Dominion in a key CAA match-up. The women's game will also be the annual Girl Scout Day. All girl scouts in attendance will receive a patch for attending the game and the scouts will be selling cookies throughout the day.

At both games this weekend, carnival games will be set up on the terrace, thanks to Astro Events. One of those events will be the "Build a Tiger" station for a $25 fee. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start of the games so fans can take part in the activities.
