PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Although the Liberty Classic Invitational was held without them, the undefeated Tigers will resume their season this weekend when they travel to Cornell University for the Big Red Invitational. Towson was unable to travel to Temple University for Sunday's meet due to travel problems caused by the huge snowstorm that hit Baltimore over the weekend.
The Tigers, who have a 190.487 average in four meets this season, have been led by senior Alise McDonald, who has a 37.556 average in the all-around. She was honored as the ECAC Gymnast of the Week after leading the Tigers to a first place finish at the Ursinus College Quad Meet.
Competing on bars and beam, Jackie Schweitzer has had a excellent season to date. While averaging 9.66 on bars, she has finished first on bars in every meet. In the Tigers' win over William & Mary last week, Schweitzer finished first on bars and beam. She is averaging 9.64 on balance beam.
Sophomore Kacy Catanzaro is also having a solid season. She earned a first place finish in the Tigers' win over William & Mary, the first all-around title of her career. Catanzaro is averaging 37.73 as an all-around performer.
