Tigers Honored by CSCAA for Academic Success

TOWSON, Md. - The Tiger men's and women's swimming and diving teams have been recognized as Scholar All-America teams for the Fall, 2009 semester, it has been announced by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Tiger women's team, which recorded a team grade point average of 3.37 during the Fall semester, was one of 102 Division I women's teams to be honored.

Meanwhile, the Tiger men's team, which recorded a team grade point average of 3.08 during the Fall semester, was one of 42 Division I men's squads to be recognized.

“I am very proud of our student athletes,” Coach Pat Mead said. “These accomplishments reflect that our teams are successful in the pool and in the classroom. In addition, these accolades demonstrate the commitment that Michele O'Connor and the Towson Athletic Department have made to our students' academic success.”

To be considered for Scholar All-America status by the CSCAA, a team must have a total grade point average at 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale for the respective semester.
