BALTIMORE, Md. - The Tigers earned a hard-fought 5-2 victory at Morgan State on Thursday afternoon. Towson (3-6) got a couple of win from players that were seeing their first action of the spring.

"I'm proud of the girls today," said Coach Doug Neagle. "We got probably the best team effort of the spring especially from Kristie Udovich and Ali Frendak."

The Tigers took the early lead in the contest by taking two of three matches in doubles action. Alexis McCoy and Nekesa Thomas defeated Trish Young and Andrea Samlin at first doubles by an 8-4 score. Beth Daub and Cassandra Ng posted an 8-6 win over Viktoryia Lukyankeo and Sydnee Collins in second doubles. Aandria Carr and Frendak gave Towson the doubles point with an 8-6 win over Pola Olczak and Frances Ferdinand at third doubles.

Carr continued her solid play with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Lukyankeo at first singles. Samlin posted a 6-3, 6-1 win against McCoy at second singles. At third singles it was Daub earning a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Thomas. Olczak defeated Ng at fourth singles by a 6-3, 6-4 score. Ferdinand contributed a 6-3, 6-4 win over Young at fifth singles. Udovich wrapped up the match with a 2-6, 7-6 (6) and 10-8 win in the third set tiebreaker at sixth singles against Collins.

Towson returns to the court when the Tigers face Rutgers on Sunday, March 14 in Florida as part of their spring trip.
