Tigers Fall to Nova Southeastern, 5-4

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Tigers dropped a close 5-4 decision to Nova Southeastern on Monday afternoon. Since the Tigers (3-8) were playing Nova Southeastern, ranked #24 in the Division II polls, all three of the doubles matches counted as an individual point.

In doubles action, the Tigers claimed a point at first doubles. Lauren Cloonan and Andrea Samlin posted a 9-7 win over Karolina Porizkova and Justine Feaster. In second doubles action it was Mary Crider and Paige Lindsley registering an 8-2 victory over Beth Daub and Katie Young. At third doubles, Blake Bauer and Federica Longo teamed for an 8-2 win against Aandria Carr and Cassandra Ng.

At first singles, Carr posted a hard-fought 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over Porizkova. Cloonan followed with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Feaster at second singles. Nova Southeastern earned a point at third singles as Bauer contributed a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 win over Samlin. Crider defeated Daub at fourth singles by a 6-2, 6-3 margin. At fifth singles it was Longo posting a 6-0, 6-1 win over Ng. Caitlin White earned the Tigers' final point in the match with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win at sixth singles over Lindsley.

The Tigers return to the courts when they return home to host Hofstra on Sunday, March 21 at 2 p.m.
