RICHMOND, Va. - Erika Stasch led the Tigers to five wins last week and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week on Tuesday by league officials. Stasch is the third Tiger to earn weekly honors from the conference this season (Katie Lingmai and Dominique Ortega).
The sophomore center fielder started her week by going 1-for-2 with an RBI, a walk and a double in the first game of the doubleheader against Seton Hall. In the second game of the twin bill she would go 2-for-3 with an RBI and her first career triple.
Stasch had a strong showing at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational over the weekend and was named to the all-tournament team. She hit .500 in the three games with five runs scored. On Saturday against Providence, Stasch hit the first home run of her career and finished the weekend set with three RBIs.
For the week, Stasch hit .538 with five runs scored and five RBIs. She had a double, triple and home run while walking once with no strikeouts in 13 at bats.
On the season, she is hitting .294 with 10 runs scored and five RBIs.
Stasch and the Tigers (11-3) puts their nine-game win streak on the line on Wednesday, March 17. Towson visits Bethune-Cookman for a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
