TOWSON, Md. - Senior John Duthie has been named Colonial Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for the second time this season after a third place individual finish at the Old Dominion University/Out Banks Collegiate Golf Tournament.
Duthie carded a 69-70-69, 8-under par 208 for the 54 hole event. His 208 score is a career best for 54 holes and his third place finish topped all other 38 CAA golfers from Delaware, Drexel, George Mason, James Madison, host Old Dominion and William & Mary in the event.
After five tournaments this fall, and 13 rounds, Duthie is averaging a team best 71.1. The Tigers completed the event at Kilmarlic Golf Club 11th out of 18 teams.
The CAA honored Duthie earlier when the senior from Lansing, N.Y. tied a program record with an 8-under par 63 on his way to medalist honors at the 17th Annual Navy Fall Golf Classic.
The Tigers close out the fall portion of their 2010-11 men's golf schedule November 1 and 2 when they travel to Charleston, S.C. for the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate Tournament at the Turtle Point Golf Course.
