TOWSON, Md. - Towson University guard Josh Brown (Upper Marlboro, Md./Largo H.S.) has earned Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week honors for men's basketball for his role in the Tigers' 93-90 overtime victory at La Salle last week.
The 6-1 senior poured in a Towson career-high 23 points. He drained 5-of-8 from three-point range, including two crucial treys in the final 19 seconds of regulation. His 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining sent the game into overtime.
Brown entered the game averaging 6.5 points. He finished 7-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the line, playing a game high 44 minutes. He made his third start of the season, replacing regular starter RaShawn Polk who was on the bench with an injury. Brown averages 16.0 points as a starter.
A transfer from Mt. Olive College, Brown is in his second year with the Tigers, who host Old Dominion tonight and then travel to James Madison Wednesday.
