Czarnecki, Baker Honored by CAA

TOWSON, Md. – Juniors Cari Czarnecki and Caroline Baker of the Tiger women's swimming and diving team have been honored as recipients of the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards, respectively, for the week ending January 9, it has been announced by CAA officials.

It is the first time this season Czarnecki has been honored by the CAA while Baker earned her second CAA weekly award of the season.

Czarnecki won a pair of events to lead the Tigers to a 200-100 victory over Delaware last Saturday afternoon. She posted a season-best time of 56.84 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly before recording a season-best time of 2:02.36 in the 200-yard butterfly.

Meanwhile, Baker eclipsed her own school records by winning the one-meter and three-meter diving events. She scored 341.93 points in the one-meter event before tallying 345.23 points in the three-meter event.

The Tigers, who are 8-1 in dual meets this season, begin a four-meet road trip this weekend when they visit George Mason for a 1 p.m. CAA meet against the Patriots.
