TOWSON, Md. - The
Tiger women's swimming and diving team has been recognized
as a Scholar All-America team for the Fall, 2010 semester, it has been
announced by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The
Tiger women's team, which posted a team grade point average of 3.42
during the Fall semester, was one of 77 Division I women's squads to be
recognized.
"This is a tremendous accomplishment for our women and our academic support team," said Coach Pat Mead. "Our athletes, parents and alumni should be very proud. This accomplishment emphasizes Towson's commitment to its student-athletes."
Towson was one of three teams from the Colonial Athletic Association to be named as a Scholar All-America team, joining Drexel and William & Mary.
The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams that have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the Fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
