MEDIA SERVICES
Obtaining Credentials
Media credentials are issued to accredited members of the media only. Requests for credentials should be made via phone, mail, or email to a member of the Towson Athletics Media Relations staff. Please be sure to follow up your request with a phone call to ensure it has been received.
Space in the press box of Johnny Unitas® Stadium and at press row in SECU Arena is limited, so requests should be made no later than 48 hours prior to game time. Should space become a problem, preference will be given to the primary media outlets of each school and then to media who their requests earlier in the week.
Photographers must show their credentials in order to gain access to the photographer areas. All photographers are limited to the designated areas and may not enter the team bench areas at any time.
Local television stations shooting the game for highlight footage may do so from the sideline (except in team areas) or from the stands on the south (press box) side of the stadium or along the baselines in SECU Arena.
Credentials may be picked up in the press box lobby for football and lacrosse or in the SECU Arena lobby for basketball beginning two hours prior to game time. In addition, they may be picked up from the Athletics Media Relations office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day prior to the game.
Radio Broadcast Information
Broadcast positions for visiting radio stations are available in the Unitas Stadium press box (football/lacrosse) and press row in the SECU Arena (basketball, volleyball, gymnastics). Stations wishing to broadcast a game from Unitas Stadium should contact the Athletics Media Relations office at least two weeks prior to game day.
Credential and parking requests for radio staff should be submitted along with the request for phone lines.
Media Parking
Parking around Unitas Stadium is limited on gameday. Requests for parking passes should be made at the same time as credential requests. If you do not make arrangements in advance for parking, you will not be able to receive a parking pass for the game.
In-Game Media Services
Pre-game notes, flip cards and game programs will be distributed in the press box (football/lacrosse) and press room (basketball) before each game. Box scores and scoring summaries will be provided at halftime and at the end of the game. There are a limited number of phone lines available, but wireless internet is available for media to use.
Postgame Press Conference
Approximately 10 minutes after the conclusion of the game, a postgame press conference will be held in a designated area. Members of the Athletics Media Relations staff will help guide members of the media to the interview area and an announcement will be made in the second half as to the location of the press conference. The head coach and selected players of the visiting team will be available for questions first, followed by the Towson coach and selected players. This will be the order of the interviews regardless of the outcome of the game.
Requests for specific Towson players should be made to the Athletics Media Relations staff. Interviews with opposing players should be coordinated through the visiting SID.
The locker rooms for both teams are closed at all times.
In-Season Interview Policy
All requests for in-season interviews with Towson players and coaches must be made through the Athletics Media Relations office. Media members should not contact players directly. Interview times will be arranged by the Athletics Media Relations staff based on availability of both the player and the media member. Players will not miss class or practice time to conduct an interview.
Media representatives are welcome to speak with players and coaches after practice sessions but should call in advance to confirm practice times and to arrange for parking on campus.
