Katelynn Thomas Clark joined the Towson University Athletics Sports Performance staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, it has been announced by Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance James Shipp.
Thomas Clark will work with the volleyball and softball teams at Towson.
"We are very excited to have Katelynn join the Sports Performance Team here at Towson," said Shipp. "Katelynn's background in manual therapy and her experiences at major Division I programs will help us significantly."
"Her knowledge base and expertise will be a real boost to our volleyball and softball programs," added Shipp.
She joins the Tigers from the United States Naval Academy where she served as an Athletic Training Intern for the 2010-11 school year. While at Navy, she worked with the varsity football team and covered events like the Army-Navy game and the Poinsettia Bowl.
Thomas Clark earned her Master's in Education with a specialization in Health from Penn State. While at Penn State, she worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer covering the men's and women's soccer teams, softball, women's gymnastics and cheerleading squads. Thomas Clark also had the opportunity to work at the 2009 Rose Bowl, 2009 Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Conference Championship, 2009 Fencing Nationals and 2009 Women's Gymnastics Nationals.
A Canoga Park, Cal. native Thomas Clark attended California Lutheran University. She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science & Sports Medicine with an emphasis in Athletic Training. As a student athletic trainer, Thomas Clark worked with the men's and women's basketball teams along with the football, women's soccer and women's water polo squads.
As an undergraduate student, Thomas volunteered with the Los Angeles Lightning, an International Basketball Team out of Thousand Oaks, Cal.
