Tigers Ranked in Mid-Major Top 25

TOWSON, Md. - Off to one of the best starts in recent history, the Tiger women's basketball finds themselves ranked in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll this week.

The Tigers (9-2) have won five straight and are ranked No. 24 in the poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

Towson is one of four Colonial Athletic Association teams ranked in this week's poll. Delaware is ranked second while James Madison is ranked sixth in the poll. Hofstra is 12th in this week's poll as the CAA has the most teams ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25.

The Tigers are a perfect 5-0 in the month of December, including a win over James Madison in their CAA opener. Towson has not allowed an opponent to score 60 points or more during the current win streak. Senior guard Krystal Parnell leads the Tigers on the season as she is averaging 12.5 points per game while recording 42 assists. Sophomore forward Nyree Williams leads the Tigers on the boards as she is averaging 9.6 rebounds per game.

Towson looks to continue its win streak when it closes out the non-conference portion of its schedule by hosting Loyola on Thursday, Dec. 29.
