Hometown Heroes Day on Jan. 29

TOWSON, Md. - On Sunday, Jan. 29 Towson Athletics will proudly present their “Hometown Heroes Day” during the women's basketball game against UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m. Service members from various United States Armed Forces groups will be honored throughout the afternoon.

Master Sergeant Marva Lewis will be performing the National Anthem. MSG Lewis served as principal vocalist for the Jazz Knights at the United States Military Academy. She is a veteran of the Gulf War, Desert Storm and Desert Shield with the First Cavalry Division. Joining MSG Lewis will be the Color Guard from the Fourth Combat Engineer Marines.

Following the first half, members from the Fourth Combat Engineer Marines will play a friendly basketball game versus the Maryland Army National Guard. This exhibition game will showcase the athletic talents from our nation's armed forces!
