Good Morning, Tiger Nation. I am Simon The Heavyweight and it's time to Wake Up on the Strong Side.
-- It's Like Throwing a Match into Gasoline
With about 10 minutes left in the game, the VCU Rams, up by 20 took off their full court press and didn't defend the inbounding pass after they scored. Over the radio, former Towson coach Vince Angotti declared this game most likely a loss, and in the end, Towson could not overcome the deficit. The Rams improved to 18-1 against the Tigers with a 67-42.
Robert Nwankwo looked like his true self, leading the team with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Tiger senior posted his eighth double-double of the season and led Towson's rebounding effort to win the battle on the boards 40-35.
Towson played a hard game, but the Rams are a very technical team that tee's off on teams that make fundamental errors - dribbling, passing, etc. Their full court press handled Towson's aggression and forced 24 turnovers to keep the game in check and at the tempo they wanted.
The Tigers are back in action Saturday at the Towson Center to take on UNC Wilmington.
