Happy Groundhog Day, Tiger Nation. I am Simon The Heavyweight and it's time to Wake Up on the Strong Side.
-- Hopefully, Pride Doesn't Come Before the Fall
But, at the very least, the Pride came in between Towson and its first winning streak in almost two years as Towson left Hofstra with a 74-49 loss.
The Tigers, who have done well in focusing on minimizing damage by their opponent's leading scorer, could not contain Mike Moore. The senior who leads the Colonial Athletic Association in scoring, put up 28 points against the Tigers. Along with forward Nathaniel Lester's 19 points from the backcourt, the Pride did not trail at any point to Towson.
Towson did not score at all during the first five minutes of the game. The Tigers again suffered a bulk of their damage off of turnovers. Towson surrendered 35 points off of turnovers while scoring 10 themselves, a 25 point deficit which matches the difference in the overall score.
Towson returns home this weekend to face Drexel Saturday night.
-- What Did Santa Compliance Leave Underneath Your Tree, Coach Ambrose?
Good Ole Signing Day. I love it and I'm sure the coaching staff loves all of their new presents. Regarded as his best class yet, Rob Ambrose seems to be pleased with Wednesday's signings. A couple of SEC transfers are on the list along with some great prep stars, both local and out of state. Here's a quick tale of the tape on Towson's future stars.
