TOWSON, Md. - The Tigers never have it easy. In their last home game, they face a Delaware squad that has won six straight games and is tied for fifth in the CAA with a 10-6 record.

But, Towson has faced very few sub-par teams in this 2011-12 campaign. In fact, they have the 75th-ranked schedule according to the Ratings Percentage Index. It's also the toughest schedule for any team in the CAA.

So, in the Tigers' last home game of the season on Wednesday night, Delaware likely comes in with all the confidence in the world. The Blue Hens lead the all-time series, 39-27, and in their first meeting with the Tigers on Jan. 27 at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, they earned a 62-43 victory. But, the game was much closer as the Tigers were down by 24-22 at the half and trailed by just five at the midway point of the second half before Delaware went on a 20-6 run to close out the game.

The last basket scored by the Tigers in that Jan. 27 contest was made by senior walk-on Bryan Blackstone, who will be playing his last home game along with walk-on Deyon Cook and former walk-on Robert Nwankwo.

Delaware (15-12, 10-6 CAA) had a pedestrian 5-6 non-conference record and really didn't start to heat up until Feb. 1. Before then, the Blue Hens' longest win streak was two games. But on that particular date, Delaware beat top-ranked George Mason at home to ignite its current run. The Blue Hens didn't let down in their next game, earning a five-point road victory at James Madison that was followed by wins over UNCW, Georgia State (overtime), Hofstra and Hampton last Saturday in the Sears BracketBusters.

The Blue Hens have also won three straight games away from the "Bob" after dropping 9 of their first 11 road encounters.

Delaware isn't the most prolific offensive team in the league, averaging 68.3 points per game. But, the Blue Hens are strong defensively, allowing teams to shoot just 39% from the field and only 31.7% from beyond the arc. Delaware shoots 42% from the field, 32% from three-point range and 72% from the line.

The Blue Hens are an average rebounding team, losing the rebounding battle by an average of 0.4 rebounds per game. Delaware forces just 10.5 turnovers per game but the Blue Hens did force the Tigers into 18 miscues in the first game.

This a guard-oriented team led by sophomore Devon Saddler (6-2, 205), the powerful combo guard from Aberdeen (Md.) who played at Winchendon Prep (Mass.). Saddler averages 18.6 points per game (2nd in the CAA) while shooting 39.1% from the field and 31% (50-160) from beyond the arc.

But, Saddler is most dangerous when he is driving to the basket and drawing fouls. He has been to the foul line 152 times this season, making 81% of his attempts. He also averages 4.0 rebounds per game but has 84 turnovers in 27 games.

Freshman Khalid Lewis (6-3, 185) offers very good size at the point guard spot. The Trenton, N.J. native averages 5.5 points per game and leads the team with 2.8 assists per game. He also shoots 38% from the field and 26% (10-38) from three-point range.

Another quality freshman, Kyle Anderson (6.2, 185) gives Delaware a strong perimeter shooter. He averages 9.6 points per game while shooting 39% from the field and 36% (62-173) from beyond the arc.

Up front, junior Jamelle Hagins (6-9, 240) is having a banner season from the post. He averages 12.9 points per game and 11.2 rebounds per game to lead the CAA. Hagins is a candidate for CAA Defensive Player of the Year with 3.0 blocks per game (2nd in the CAA). He also shoots 54% from the field but has had issues with turnovers (65).

Junior Josh Brinkley (6-6, 245) is a bruiser at power forward who compliments Hagins well. He averages 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in just 25.1 minutes per game. Brinkley shoots 50% from the floor and 70% from the line.

Led by freshman guard Jarvis Threatt (6-2, 170), Delaware has a pretty deep bench. Threatt averages 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while playing an average of 23 minutes per outing. He shoots 36% from the field and has made 24 of 77 (31%) attempts from beyond the arc.

Junior Kelvin McNeill (6-8, 230) adds a big body off the bench. He averages 2.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while playing 15.3 minutes per contest. He shoots 40% from the field and 48% from the foul line.

Tip-off for Wednesday night's game is slated for 7 p.m. with Senior Night ceremonies starting approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of the game. The contest will be shown on ESPN3 and broadcast on WBAL-1090 AM. In addition, make sure to check out the in-game blog right here on TowsonTigers.com.
