TOWSON, Md. – The college baseball game between the Tigers and the University
of Maryland (25-14), scheduled for Wednesday, April 18 at John B. Schuerholz
Park has been postponed.
The
game will be made up on Tuesday, April 24 at 3:00 p.m. at Schuerholz Park.
The
postponement creates a unique home-and-home situation for the teams next week.
On Tuesday, the Tigers host the Terrapins. On Wednesday evening, the Terrapins
host the Tigers at 6 p.m.
The
Tigers, who have a 19-18 overall record, return to action on Friday, April 20
when they host Georgia State in the opening game of a three-game Colonial
Athletic Association weekend series.
The
Tigers and the Panthers are scheduled to play a single game on Friday at 3:00
p.m. and a single game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The teams close out the series
on Sunday with a single game at 1:00 p.m.

enters the weekend with a 9-6 CAA record.
The Tigers are three games behind CAA
leader UNC Wilmington (12-3, 20-16). Hofstra is second in the CAA with a 10-5
mark in league games and a 19-15 overall record. Delaware (11-7, 19-18) and
George Mason (11-7, 25-13) are tied for third place, just one-half game ahead
of the Tigers. However, the Tigers own tie-breakers against both teams.
In
March, Towson won two of three games at Delaware. The Tigers also swept a
three-game series against George Mason.
Georgia
State comes into the weekend series with a 7-8 CAA record and a 16-21 overall
mark.

conference standings.
The
Tigers and the Panthers have played 18 times. Georgia State owns a 10-8 series
lead. Last year, Georgia State swept a three-game series from Towson. Two years
ago, the Tigers swept all three games from the Panthers at Schuerholz Park.
