TOWSON, Md. – In front of a packed crowd at the Tiger Softball Complex Sunday afternoon, the Tigers (25-26, 8-10 CAA) were defeated 7-0 by Hofstra (32-13, 16-0 CAA) in Towson's final home game of the regular season.

Prior to the game, a ceremony was held honoring Towson's eight seniors, who played in the final game in front of the home fans. Towson's seniors include outfielders Brianna Jones and Erika Stasch, pitchers Dominique Ortega and Paige Martin, infielders Haley Stueckler and Lindsey Kent, first baseman Andrea Stevenson and catcher Courtney Wittner.

“Over the four years, they all have added something in their own unique ways,” Towson head coach Lisa Costello said of her senior class. “Every single one of them has led by example and they are fantastic kids.”

Hofstra junior starting pitcher Olivia Galati limited the Tigers to just two base-runners Sunday, and picked up her Colonial Athletic Association leading 25th victory of the season in the circle. Galati threw seven innings and struck out nine in the shutout.

The Pride got on the board first in the second inning, when third baseman Krista Thorn hit a two-run home run to give Hofstra a 2-0 lead. Thorn had three runs batted in for the Pride, while Rachael Senatore had three hits and two RBI's for Hofstra.

The Tigers battled with good defense throughout the game backing pitchers Katie Lingmai and Ortega, as third baseman Delanie Dunham had multiple strong plays in the field at the hot corner. The sophomore also added a walk in the sixth inning for Towson.

Stevenson got Towson's first hit of the game off Galati in the seventh inning and finished her final home game 1-for-3 at the plate.

The Tigers will next travel to Delaware State Tuesday for a non-conference matchup beginning at 5 p.m.
