TOWSON, Md. –
Towson cross country Coach Roger Erricker has announced a competitive 2012-13 schedule for the upcoming season.
“We're excited and looking forward to it,” Erricker said.
“It's very competitive and I know we will be ready to get back and compete in
some very good meets.”
The season will get underway beginning on August 31, when
the Tigers will host the Baltimore Metro Meet at 4:30 p.m. The Tigers won the
meet in 2011 and will look to repeat as team champions at Oregon Ridge Park this season.
The Tigers will then travel to Colonial Athletic Association
counterpart Delaware Sept. 15 for the Delaware Invitational. Towson returns home for the Towson Invitational
Sept. 21 at 4:30 p.m. Last season, the Tigers won the meet behind a first place
finish from Katie Ogden en route to
a team score of 22 and the team title.
The Tigers will wrap up September when Lehigh University
hosts the Paul Short Invitational on Sept. 28 at noon.
The Tigers will make a pair of trips to Williamsburg, Va., in October. Towson will take part in the William & Mary Open on Oct. 13 and return on Oct. 27 for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Last season, the Tigers finished fourth at the CAA's and had Kaylin Gilmartin-Donohue join Ogden on
the All-CAA squad after each runner finished in the top 10 of the meet.
Towson will go to Penn State on Nov. 9 for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic
Regional and conclude the season on Nov. 17 at the ECAC Meet at Van Cortlandt
Park in New York.
In addition to competing in the eight meets, the Tigers will
also hold an Alumni Meet Nov. 4 at the Towson Center Course beginning at 11 a.m.
