TOWSON, Md. - The 2011-12 school year was one filled with memories and highlights for Tiger athletics. The Top 10 Moments from 2011-12 contains some individual highlights in addition to those involving the teams. Make sure to check back each Tuesday and Thursday to see what moments made it.

Sometimes, who is in the stands can be just as exciting as what’s happening on the court or on the field. That plays into the No. 2 moment on the Top Ten Countdown from the 2011-12 school year.

Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 was a date that Tiger men's basketball fans had circled on their calendars since the schedule was released in early September.

The Tigers were to face Oregon State on the hardwood that day and it would be the fans’ first chance to see first-year head coach Pat Skerry and his team.

There was added excitement for that game because of Oregon State’s head coach Craig Robinson. Robinson is the brother of First Lady Michelle Obama.

Fans wondered from the moment the game was announced if the First Family would attend the game since this game was Robinson and Oregon State’s only trip east all season long.

The day of the game saw excitement increase even more, as fans and staff were asked to pass through additional security to enter the arena. About 10 minutes before the start of the game, the crowd of 3,119 rose to its feet to greet the President of the United States, Barack Obama as he entered the arena with Towson President Maravene Loeschke and Mrs. Obama.

The First Couple sat courtside for the game with daughters Sasha and Malia seated in the front row of the stands.

At halftime of the game, Towson honored the football team who had just captured their first CAA title. President Obama got up and took a picture with Coach Rob Ambrose and the team.

Even though Oregon State won the game, 66-46 it was an exciting time for everyone in the Towson Center that day.

Check back on July 12 for the No. 1 moment in the countdown.
