TOWSON, Md. - Senior forward and co-captain Cheyenne Skidmore was an honorable mention selection to the 2012 Preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Team, the league announced today.
The honorees were chosen by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Skidmore started 16 of 19 games played last year and led the team with eight goals and nine assists. She was named to the third team All-CAA in 2011 and earned CAA Player of the Week honors on Sept. 12 after she led the Tigers to a pair of wins over UMBC and Mount St. Mary’s. Skidmore tied for sixth in the league in total points (25) and fourth in points per game (1.32) last season. She currently stands seventh in Towson history with 45 career points. Her eight goals in 2011 tied her for eighth in the conference, while she stood second in the CAA in assists (9).
Towson opens the season this weekend with road games against DePaul (Aug. 17, 5 p.m. EST) and Valparaiso (Aug. 19; 2 p.m. EST).
