The Mountain Hawks’ Lindsay Metzger got the scoring started in the fourth minute. Metzger added to Lehigh’s lead at 14:32 with her second goal of the game. Lehigh took a 3-0 lead at 21:32 as Caitlyn Mitchell scored a goal. Metzger completed her “hat trick” at 28:37 to send Lehigh into the half with a 4-0 advantage.
Lehigh out shot the Tigers 12-5 in the first half while the visitors held a 5-2 advantage in first half saves.
The Mountain Hawks extended their lead at 38:35 of the second half on a goal by Erin Ricker. Winchester got the Tigers on the board at 41:21 as she scored off an assist from senior Kasie Nurko.
Winchester then assisted on Jenney's goal at 47:25 as she found the ball off a scramble and poked it home, making it a 5-2 game.
Lehigh scored its final goal of the game at 56:03 as Kimberly Eng found the back of the net.
Branco scored at 63:09 to make it a 6-3 game. Branco’s goal was assisted by senior Janine Kovach.
Sophie Fitzpatrick made five saves in goal to earn the win for Lehigh. Sophomore Tashani Dickson made five saves in the loss for the Tigers.
Towson held an 8-5 advantage in shots in the second half as Lehigh finished the game with a 17-13 edge in that category. Each team had six penalty corners in the game.
Towson returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 15 when it travels to Bucknell for a noon game.
