Good morning Tiger Nation, and welcome to the
Morning Roar.
Good news to report that Towson
Director of Athletics Mike Waddell (@TowsonTigerAD)
has received
a one-year contract extension, keeping him in charge of Towson Athletics
until October 2014. Trust me, that ensures this great things will continue to
happen for all of Tiger Nation.
Let's Unleash the Roar
Yesterday @Towson_MSOC squared
off with crosstown rival Loyola but struggled offensively and fell 2-0 at the Tiger Soccer Complex. The Greyhounds came out of the gates firing in
the second half, scoring just 2:21 after the half. Then the Tigers conceded a
penalty kick the Greyhounds capitalized on just minutes later. After
the game Towson Sports Network's Ray Rogowski (@RayRogowski) caught up with Head
Coach Frank Olszewski. You can see highlights
of the game here.
@Towson_MSOC
next hits the road to take on the University of Cincinnati on Friday.
After a very successful weekend for @Towson_MGOLF and @Towson_WGOLF, the golf program
announced its annual Alumni
and Friends meet. It will be held at the home course for the Tigers, the
Towson Golf and Country Club. It is sure to be a fun event; I'm going to see if
I can sneak in a tee-time!
One of my favorite blogs to read on
towsontigers.com comes from my friend Simon Habtemariam (@Simon_HWT). The latest installment
of On
the Strong Side takes a look at @Towson_FB one game into the season.
Countdown to William and Mary
As the weekend quickly approaches, we get
closer to seeing the Tigers for the first time in 2012 inside Unitas
Stadium.
One of my favorite Twitter accounts to follow
is the Tigers' mascot, Doc (@Doc_the_Tiger).
Yesterday Doc tweeted "3,000 student vouchers for Saturdays @Towson_FB opener have been taken. We are
officially out! 500 overflow vouchers available Saturday." That is
great news! I have been telling you student vouchers were quickly disappearing,
and I hope that Tiger Nation #PacksTheU on Saturday at noon.
Tiger Athletics has also released a "schedule" of the pregame
activities fans have the opportunity to participate in. Checking
it out, it seems like it will be a fun day. Fans have the opportunity to hear
the @Towson_FB pregame show, hosted by Spiro Morekas and
myself with analysis from Ron Meehan and Dayne Buttafuoco, in Lot 13, so be sure
to make your way over that way starting at 11 a.m.
Thanks for reading another edition of the Morning Roar. Be sure to check back the same time tomorrow for more. In the meantime follow
