LORETTO, Pa. – St. Francis (Pa.) scored a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-0 victory over the Towson University field hockey team on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Stevie Winchester led the Tigers with a shot in the game.

The Red Flash (6-4) got on the scoreboard at 10:56 of the first half as Carissa Makea scored the first of her two goals in the half. Makea added to the St. Francis lead at 13:34 as she scored off a penalty corner. Those goals sent the Red Flash into the half with a 2-0 advantage.

St. Francis out shot the Tigers 11-2 in the first half and recorded eight of the 10 penalty corners in the half.

Winchester recorded a shot at 51:15 that forced Katelyn Vitali to make a save.

St. Francis added to its lead at 55:16 as Kellie Mason tipped a ball past sophomore Tashani Dickson for a 3-0 lead. The Red Flash scored their final goal of the game at 57:51 as Abby Webb stroked a ball to the back post of the net.

The Red Flash had two second half shots and finished the game with a 13-3 advantage.

Vitali made two saves to earn the win in goal for the Red Flash. Dickson made nine saves in the loss for the Tigers (0-11).

Towson returns to action on Friday, Oct. 5 when it travels to Old Dominion for a 5 p.m. game in Norfolk.
