WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Led by sophomore Elizabeth Tauber, the Towson cross country team finished in fourth place at the Tribe Open hosted by William & Mary Saturday morning in a seven team field. William & Mary won the meet with a team score of 33, while Loyola came in second and Fordham third. Towson finished with 106 points.

Tauber set a new personal record for a 6K meet by finishing the course in 22:36, finishing eighth overall. With the Colonial Athletic Association championship being held by William & Mary in a few weeks, Towson head coach Roger Erricker understood the importance of running well prior to the conference meet.

"The course had a lot of twists and turns, so it was great to be able to get out and run it," Erricker said. "It's a good course for us."

Sophomore Kara Bucaro also finished with a strong time of 23:08 and placed 16th.

Senior Hannah McKenzie finished 32nd in 23:59, Emma Tobin 38th in 24:11 and Ashley Simmons placed 39th with a time of  24:12 to round out the top five Towson finishers.

Towson will return to William & Mary for the CAA Cross Country Championship on October 27.
