Good
morning Tiger Nation and welcome to the Morning Roar.
Let's Unleash the Roar
Today is
Thursday and that means one thing, Tiger
Talk. There is a pleasant surprise for Tiger fans—or unpleasant depending
on how you look at it—but I will be filling in for Damon Lewis on this week's
episode. Coaches Shawn Nadelen and Pat Skerry
will join Spiro Morekas and I at Bill Bateman's Bistro in Towson from 6-7 p.m. If you can't make
it to Bateman's, you can listen live on the Towson Sports Network.
We are less
than a week away from National Signing Day for Football and for the fifth
straight year @Towson_FB will hold
a signing day event to let fans know who the newest Tigers will be. The
event will take place Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Minnegan Room,
located on the third floor of the Field House. The event is open to all Tiger
fans and anyone in attendance will receive a complimentary ticket to the @Towson_MBB game against Delaware
later that night.
Hardwood Talk
Last night @Towson_MBB snapped
it's three game losing skid when they defeated Old Dominion on the road, 68-66.
Jerrelle Benimon had another great game, posting 21 points and 17
rebounds to add his NCAA-leading 15th "double-double" of the
season. Graduate student Bilal Dixon showed his presence on the boards by grabbing
10 rebounds for the sixth time this season. The Tigers have a rare weekend in
which they don't have any games. Towson returns to the court Monday when it play host to UNCW at 7 p.m. The game can be heard right here on the Towson
Sports Network.
The game on
Feb 6 against Delaware—which I mentioned above—will
now be shown on Comcast SportsNet. Al Koken and Ron Thompson will have the
call. The game can also be heard on 1090 AM WBAL with Gerry Sandusky and the
legendary former Towson head coach Vince Angotti handling the call on the
radio.
This is the
last year in the Towson Center before the Tigers move next door to Tiger Arena.
The long time voice of the Tigers' Spiro Morekas relives his favorite moments
inside the Towson Center in his blog, From
the Broadcast Booth. Check out Spiro's Top Ten Towson Center moment number eight in this week's blog.
