Junior midfielder Austin Lyons walked onto the Towson men's lacrosse team this season. He sat down with TowsonTigers for a getting-to-know-you chat.
TowsonTigers: What movies or TV shows do you like to watch in your downtime?
Austin Lyons: The one TV show I try not to miss is ESPN's 30 for 30, and one of my favorite movies is Will Ferrell's "Step Brothers."
TT: What did you want to be when you were little?
AL: I wanted to be a professional athlete. My favorite pro teams are the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the New Jersey Devils.
TT: What has been the highlight of your career so far?
AL: Well, most people might not know I only started taking face-offs in eighth grade. So to be able to walk onto the Towson men's lacrosse team and contribute as a face-off specialist is definitely a highlight.
TT: Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?
AL: I like to listen to Linkin Park's "Bleed It Out" on my iPod before a game and I have a set of warm up drills I do before every game.
TT: Why are you proud to be a member of the Towson Lacrosse team?
AL: It was my life-long dream to walk on to a D1 lacrosse program. Ever since I made the roster, the team and coaches have been nothing short of extremely supportive of me. The team treats each other like family members.
