| @Towson_SWIMDIVE Seeks Fifth CAA Title in Six Years

TOWSON, Md. - The Towson women's swimming and diving team will embark on the 2013 Colonial Athletic Association Championships beginning Wednesday at the Jim McKay Natatorium on the campus of George Mason.

The Tigers (10-2) will be looking to capture their fifth CAA Championship in the last six seasons after finishing in second place last year. Towson head coach Pat Mead understands everyone will have to contribute to make a strong championship run.

"We will need to have all 20 women work together as a team and believe in themselves," Mead said. "Aggressive performances in the morning and making into the final heat are how championships are won. So we have to get things done in the morning."

Led by junior Kaitlin Burke, the Tigers appear poised to make a splash. Burke is the defending champion in the 500-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle events from a year ago. This season, Burke holds the top times this season in the 200-yard (1:50.45), 500-yard (4:49.31), and 1650-yard (16:32.95) freestyle events in the CAA.

Sophomores Victoria Oslund and Amanda Barber and juniors Kendall Towe and Melanie Rowland join senior Amanda Skroupa as vital cogs in the Tiger championship chase. Barber, Towe and Skroupa have all been named CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week in addition to Burke in 2012-13.

The diving contingent is led by sophomore Lyndsey Dickson, who has been named CAA Women's Diver of the Week a remarkable six times this season.  She enters the meet with the second best score on the three-meter board and fourth best on the one-meter board among all CAA women's divers this season. Dickson has season-highs of 283.50 points in the one-meter dive and 318.55 points in the three-meter diving competition.
