TOWSON, Md. – Coming off back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association championship seasons, Coach Rob Ambrose and the Towson University football coaching staff will host their fifth annual Tiger Football Coaching Clinic for all high school and youth football coaches on Saturday, April 20.
The clinic is open to all high school coaches and will be held in the Field House adjacent to Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas® Stadium on the Towson University campus.
The Coaches Clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 with registration in the third floor atrium of the Field House.
The clinic will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with four general sessions held in the Field House conducted by members of the Tiger coaching staff. These presentations include offensive and defensive positional instruction. The final period includes a Strength and Conditioning session with Coach Jeremy Pick. At the same time, there will be a Special Teams session.
Defensive Coordinator Matt Hachmann, Defensive Backs Coach Derrick Johnson, Offensive Line Coach John Donatelli, Quarterbacks Coach Jared Ambrose, and Running Backs Coach Reno Ferri are among the coaches who will be participating in the Coaches’ Clinic.
The clinic sessions will be held in the Minnegan Room and Rooms 301 and 302 in the Field House.
There will be four 40-minute sessions conducted by members of the Tiger coaching staff.
At the conclusion of the clinic, all coaches will be invited to watch the Tigers’ practice session in Unitas Stadium.
Over the last two seasons, Coach Ambrose and his staff have been a remarkable story in college football. After posting a 3-19 record and a 1-13 CAA record in 2009 and 2010, the “Turnaround Tigers” have won 16 of 23 games the last two years. A nationally-ranked FCS program the last two seasons, the Tigers have compiled a 16-4 record against FCS opponents the last two seasons and are 13-3 against CAA teams.
After winning the CAA championship outright in 2011, the Tigers shared the CAA title with Villanova, New Hampshire and Richmond last season.
