TOWSON, Md. - Head coach Carly Powell and the Towson University field hockey team will offer two exciting summer camps for field hockey players this July.
The Tigers will offer a youth camp that will take place July 10-12. That camp is open to boys and girls in grades 1-5 and will run each day from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The cost for the camp is $120.
Towson will also offer a day camp that will run from July 9-12. That camp is geared to girls in grades 6-12 and participants can either be a commuter or an overnight camper. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. each day. The cost for that camp is $485 for overnight, $400 for a commuter and $455 for an overnight group of four or more players from same high school.
Towson Field Hockey Camp is an opportunity for all athletes to sharpen their field hockey skills in a fun and challenging environment. Daily sessions emphasize and teach skill development, tactical knowledge, competitive game situations, and scrimmages. Campers will be challenged to play at a high level with coaching from an elite-level staff. More importantly, campers are grouped by age and ability level and will be challenged accordingly.
Powell said, "We will be having a "Minute to Win It" competition during camp consisting of several stations of field hockey tasks to complete within a minute. We also will learn technical skill, play small games and scrimmage at night. Both camps are a great learning tool for beginning and advanced players."
