| @Towson_MBB Offseason Blog #6: Finals Week

Because of our long winter break, Towson's spring semester runs a little longer than most other schools. Classes finished last Tuesday and now we are in the middle of final exams. Like it is at this point each semester, it is a hectic time on campus. This semester I have three finals and one final paper to turn in. My teammates and I have worked hard in the classroom all semester and now we are trying to finish strong. It's like the last two minutes of a game – you work hard to put yourself in a position to win the game and now it is crunch time. It's time to put away the other team or in this case, put the finishing touches on a semester's worth of work.

From the time that I arrived on Towson's campus, coach Skerry has always stressed to me (and my teammates) that getting my degree is priority number one. Academics are the most important thing to him. I think that shows in our team GPA last semester, which was a 2.95. We are hoping to get a similar team GPA this semester! I know basketball won't be around forever so having my degree from a place like Towson is something I can always come back to.

Part of the reason for our academic growth and success is the great plan and support of our academic advisors. They always know what is going on in our courses and help to make sure that we are staying on top of our work. It is especially helpful when we travel during the season and have to miss class. We have study hall on the road either the night before or the morning of a game. It helps to keep us on track so that we don't miss anything while we are away.

Well, it's time to go study for my last final of the semester. Until next week, go Tigers!
