Greatest Moments in Towson Golf History: #1

Moment No. 1: A.J. Glascock makes a 45-foot birdie putt on 18 to clinch the 2000 America East Championship and Towson's first-ever trip to the NCAA Regionals

A.J. Glascock's 45-foot birdie and Greg Cote's par on the 590-yard 18th hole gave the Towson men's golf team a one-shot victory over Hartford for their second consecutive America East Conference Golf Championship at the Long Island National Golf Club in 2000.

The win resulted in Towson's first-ever trip to the NCAA Regionals as it was the first year of automatic qualifiers for conference champions in men's golf. The Tigers recorded a 308 team score in the final round and made up eight shots during the final nine holes to edge Hartford for the championship, 621-622.

Towson, which captured its fourth conference title in a five-year span, advanced to the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship Regionals, which were held in Fresno, Calif.

Individually, Cote captured medalist honors with a two-day total of 148. Cote tallied five birdies and 21 pars in his two rounds. Glascock was second with an eighth-over-par 150, including a three over 74 during the final round.

Towson head coach Brian Yaniger was named America East Golf Coach of the Year that season.
