PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ? The Tigers are hoping get back on the winning track tonight when they square off against Penn State in a final appearance in the Philly Hoop Group Classic in the Palestra. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised by CN8 and carried live on WTMD (89.7 FM) Radio.
Towson (3-2) is coming off a 64-47 loss to 20th-ranked Villanova last night. The Nittany Lions (5-1) lost their first game of the season yesterday when they bowed 77-72 to Rhode Island. This will be the first-ever meeting between Towson and Penn State on the hardwood. The two schools are most familiar with each other in lacrosse where the Tigers hold an 11-4 lead in the series.
The Tigers will also attempt to notch their first win ever against a Big Ten opponent. Thus far Towson is 0-7 against the Big Ten.
