TOWSON, Md. ? The Tigers are back in the Towson Center Wednesday night when they play host to Georgia State in a key Colonial Athletic Association contest. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game will be carried locally on WBAL (1090 AM) Radio.
This is a rematch. The Panthers won the first meeting between the two teams 68-46 in Atlanta back on Jan. 17th.
GSU and Towson are meeting for just the 9th time with the series tied, 4-4. The two schools did not face each other until the Panthers joined the CAA for the 2005-06 season. TU won both regular season games in the Panthers' first year but dropped a first round CAA Tournament game to them later. Two years ago the two teams split. The Panthers won 87-81 in double overtime in Atlanta. Towson won the rematch 92-65 in the Towson Center. The 92 points were a season high for the Tigers. Towson led by as many as 31 in the game. Last year the two teams split again with the Tigers winning 58-57 on a C.C. Williams put back with 3.5 seconds left in the Towson Center and the Panthers taking the rematch 79-63 in Atlanta behind Leonard Mendez's game high 21 points.
